First Express Entry Draw in July Issues 920 PR Invitations

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently issued invitations to apply (ITAs) in Canada’s most recent Express Entry draw.

The department issued 920 ITAs in a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw. Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 739 to be considered.

Community applications now open for new rural and Francophone immigration pilot programs

The Government of Canada announced the launch of two new pilots aimed at attracting skilled workers to rural and Francophone minority communities. The pilots, namely the Rural Community Immigration Pilot and the Francophone Community Immigration Pilot, are designed to address the unique economic and demographic challenges faced by these communities.

The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, on May 21, 2024 has launched the community application process for these pilots. Economic development organizations across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply for one or both of the pilots. These organizations must demonstrate their eligibility and present a compelling case for how immigration will bolster their local economies.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will select up to 15 communities to participate in the pilots based on their economic needs, the availability of services and programs for newcomers, and the capacity of their economic development organizations to collaborate with IRCC. The selected participants, to be announced in the coming months, will commence their onboarding and training this fall.

All interested organizations are required to complete IRCC’s questionnaire [https://ircc-eoi-di.smapply.io/prog/IRCC/] by July 2, 2024, to be considered for participation.
