Agri-Food Pilot
The government of Canada launched the Canada Agri-Food Immigration Pilot in 2020 with hopes of bringing in workers and sustain its growth output. IRCC announced an update to the Agril-Food Pilot. The program which was set to end on May 14th, 2023 has been extended to May 2025.
On a yearly basis, around 2750 applications are going to be accepted each year and for this year, the government of Canada has made it clear that they are going to target people that are already in Canada because of the ongoing pandemic and the travel restrictions that it has brought.
Here are the eligible occupations you can apply in:
- Retail butcher
- Industrial butcher
Food processing laborer - Harvesting laborer for year-round mushroom production
- Harvesting laborer for year-round greenhouse crop production
- Harvesting labourer for year-round livestock raising
- Farm supervisor or Specialised livestock worker
- Farm supervisor or Specialised livestock worker for meat processing
- Farm supervisor or Specialised livestock worker for mushroom production
- Farm supervisor or Specialised livestock worker for greenhouse crop production
- Farm supervisor or Specialized livestock worker for livestock raising
Eligibility requirements for Agri-Food Immigration Pilot
- 12 month full-time work experience in Temporary Foreign Worker Program
- Canadian language benchmark level 4 in English
- Canadian language benchmark level 4 in French
- Foreign equivalent of a high-school level education
- Foreign equivalent of higher education
- Job offer for full time work in Canada outside Quebec
- Job offer for non-seasonal work in Canada outside of Quebec
